The Sinclair Heights Board of Directors met with Deputy Fire Marshal Brad Wiggins of South Kitsap Fire and Rescue at Sharon Bacon’s home at 630 Tufts on June 14, 2017. Board members in attendance were President Sharon Bacon, Vice President Jane Michelinie, and Secretary Fred Radovich.
The purpose of our meeting was to discuss Home Safety suggestions with Deputy Fire Marshal Wiggins. He presented us with a South Kitsap Fire and Rescue brochure outlining the leading causes of fires and medical responses and how to prevent them. This brochure will be posted on our website, along with an article from AARP which also outlines several home safety tips.
Deputy Fire Marshal Wiggins stated that his department offers a free Home Safety Inspection for anyone who requests it by calling their Fire Prevention Division at 360-895-6506. Deputy Fire Marshal Wiggins also offered to attend our annual Sinclair Heights Picnic, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 9 at 12:00 noon at our common area on Medallion. Unless some unexpected emergency occurs that would preempt our picnic, he plans to bring some of his firemen and possibly a fire truck, which the kids in attendance would enjoy. They plan to hand out brochures and mingle with picnic attendees and to offer helpful home safety suggestions. The picnic information is also posted on our website. A separate reminder email will be sent to all owners prior to the picnic, as well as mail box flyers will be posted. We hope all owners and renters are able to attend.
